Halloween Candy: Ode to Candy Corn

candy-corn-1.jpgFound this on NPR from last year - worth listening to. Amazingly, the report says that 35 million pounds of candy corn are made each year, which is about 9 billion kernels.

The presenter equates eating candy corn to a guilty pleasure, not unlike watching trashy reality TV - something that you'd be embarrassed to admit in public.

I don't get this at all, do you? Am I missing some elitist view of candy corn? Let me know.
